Sudha Indian Embroidered Velvet Jewelry Box, circa 1990 - A small, rectangular jewelry box crafted from black velvet, featuring a hinged lid richly decorated with gold-colored embroidery in a traditional Indian floral and scrolling foliage design. The embroidery is accented with small white, reddish-orange, and darker red/brown beads, incorporating garnet, carnelian, and faux pearls, reflecting Mughal court tradition. The interior and base are lined with black 100% rayon. Handcrafted by artisans in India, originating from Agra, and designed by Sudha (Tiburon, California, ©1990). This item was featured in a Smithsonian 'Moscow: Treasures and Traditions' exhibit (1990-1991). 4.5 inches long, 3.5 inches wide, 2.5 inches tall. Good overall condition.
