Gorham Sterling Silver Rococo-Revival Letter Opener, c. 1900, Pattern 1178 - A Gorham Sterling Silver letter opener, dating to circa 1900, featuring pattern number 1178. The handle is designed in a rococo-revival style with scrolled, openwork decoration and an oval central cartouche. The blade is curved with an undulating edge. Marked 'STERLING' with the Gorham hallmark (lion, anchor, G) and pattern number '1178' near the handle. Weight: 109 grams Length: 9.5 inches Good overall condition with typical surface wear and light tarnish consistent with age and use. No apparent repairs or significant damage.
