A Set of Seven Japanese Blue and White 'Hoo' Porcelain Dishes and Platter - A set of seven ceramic items, including one large rectangular platter and six smaller rectangular dishes, crafted from white porcelain or fine ceramic with a glossy finish. The decoration features a vibrant blue and white underglaze design. The large platter displays a branch of white blossoms, likely cherry blossoms, against a textured blue ground with horizontal wavy lines. Each of the six smaller dishes features a dense pattern of white floral motifs, possibly peonies or chrysanthemums, with leaves on a blue ground. The reverse of each small dish bears a blue stamped mark with stylized Japanese characters, which translate to ”Hoo” (Phoenix), above the English text ”MADE IN JAPAN”. Large platter: 13 inches (33.02 cm) in length Smaller dishes: 5.5 inches (13.97 cm) in length Good condition. Minor variations in glaze consistent with production. No chips or cracks observed. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Tuesday, Dec. 16 from 2pm to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
