A WWII US Mark 2 Fighting Knife with Sheath - A WWII US Mark 2 Fighting Knife with Sheath. The dagger-style knife features a double-edged, spear-point metal blade. The hilt consists of a brass-toned metal guard, a stacked ring handle likely made of leather or a composite material with alternating dark and light segments, and a rounded brass-toned pommel. The pommel is etched or scratched with the initials ”WSC”. The accompanying sheath is constructed from brown leather with visible stitching, featuring a metal eyelet at the top for attachment and a retaining strap with a brass-toned snap closure. Knife length: 10.5 inches Sheath length: 13 inches The knife and sheath exhibit an aged, heavily worn condition consistent with prolonged use and exposure. The metal blade shows significant surface wear, scratching, and oxidation. Heavy green verdigris is visible on the brass components of the hilt and sections of the handle, indicating significant corrosion. The leather sheath shows extensive discoloration, scuffing, and dirt accumulation. Pervasive verdigris and patination are present on all metal components. The pommel has user-applied etching.
