Composite Novelty Coin 1919 Lincoln Cent and 1912 Dime Faces - A collection of items, centered on a composite novelty coin, commonly referred to as a trick coin. The coin is constructed from separate US coin obverses joined together. Side displays the characteristics of a 1919 Lincoln Cent obverse, showing the date 1919, LIBERTY, and IN GOD WE TRUST. This side exhibits a copper or bronze tone. The opposing side displays the characteristics of a silver-toned 1912 US Dime obverse (likely Barber design), showing the date 1912 and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The coin is affixed to a yellow cardstock square which bears handwritten black ink notation: 1919 penny } in 1912 Dime. The lot includes a separate loose paper note querying the item's nature.
