Van Briggle Grinding Corn Woman Figural Dish, Model 702 - A single piece of American Art Pottery produced by Van Briggle Pottery, Colorado Springs. This figurine and integrated dish, known as the ”Grinding Corn Woman” (Model 702), depicts a kneeling female figure grinding grain on a metate, which forms the central element of a shallow, organic basin. The piece is finished entirely in a vibrant turquoise or aqua blue semi-matte crystalline glaze, characteristic of the pottery's output from the early to mid-20th century. The underside of the base features incised marks reading ”VAN BRIGGLE COLO. SPGS. COLO. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Friday, Jan. 30 from Noon to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
