Original U.S. Indian Wars Era Model 1873 Entrenching Tool with Scabbard - This lot features a U.S. Indian Wars era Model 1873 entrenching tool, also known as a Hagner trowel bayonet, and its original leather scabbard. The tool consists of a spade-shaped steel blade with an integrated socket and a ribbed wooden handle. The handle is stamped with U.S. near the metal junction. The accompanying brown leather scabbard features a brass throat and a stamped U.S. mark on the leather. The scabbard is constructed with an internal metal reinforcement and includes a brass attachment ring at the throat. Length: 13.5 inches . Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Saturday, Feb. 28 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
