Vintage Kitchen Wares Including Weiss Kuhnert Jolly Chef Cookie Jar - A group of decorative and utilitarian vintage kitchen and tabletop items. The centerpiece is a ceramic biscuit or cookie jar attributed to Weiss Kuhnert, known as the Jolly Chef pattern. The jar features a hand-painted corpulent chef design forming the lid, a white body decorated with red and green fruit motifs and vertical stripes, and is fitted with a woven rattan bail handle. The base of the jar bears an unidentified blue stylized character stamp, consistent with the WK mark. Also included is a ceramic pate dish or tureen featuring an orange-brown glazed base and a blue-grey rabbit head lid. The base of the tureen is marked PORTUGAL. The collection contains sets of shakers: colorful, glazed ceramic turkey shakers marked JAPAN on the underside, and novelty shakers combining clear, textured glass bodies with colorful plastic bird heads (one yellow rooster and green fowl). Further components include a painted resin figurine of a seated dog holding a small woven basket, and collection of pieces of heavily glittered faux fruit, comprising pears, spherical fruits resembling pomegranates or apples, one grape cluster with a leaf swag, and small strawberries. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Friday, Jan. 30 from Noon to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
