A group of Carborundum Sharpening Implements and Grinder - A group of vintage and antique sharpening tools primarily manufactured by The Carborundum Company of Niagara Falls, New York. The lot includes sharpening and honing stones, both loose and in original cardboard packaging, and a hand-crank grinder. The stones are predominantly composed of silicon carbide abrasive, marketed under the Carborundum brand. The collection features stones still in their original, colorful cardboard boxes, displaying product numbers such as ”112” and ”No., ” and descriptions like ”Combination Stone” and ”Sharpening Stone.” Also included are loose or mounted stones, including combination stones and a razor hone set in a wooden tray. The lot is anchored by an orange/red painted cast iron hand-crank grinder marked ”NIAGARA No. THE CARBORUNDUM NIAGARA FALLS N.Y. U.S.A.” The collection also includes a large strop constructed of maroon leather and black fabric webbing with metal hardware. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Friday, Jan. 30 from Noon to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
