Bidspirit auction | Late Victorian Adjustable Swivel Piano
Late Victorian Adjustable Swivel Piano Stool with Ball and Claw Feet - A adjustable swivel piano stool or chair dating to the Late Victorian or Eastlake period (c. 1880–1900). The piece is constructed of darkly stained wood, likely oak or cherry based on comparable market examples, featuring heavy turning characteristic of the era. The stool incorporates a round rotating seat designed for height adjustment, supported by a robust four-legged base connected by turned stretchers. The chair includes a contoured vertical backrest supported by turned spindles. Each of the legs terminates in an ornamental metal foot, styled as a brass or bronze claw gripping a glass or opaque stone ball caster. The design is consistent with antique piano or organ chairs featuring the popular claw and ball foot motif. No manufacturer markings or inscriptions are visible. Burns in-house shipping is available.
