Kataro Shirayamadani for Rookwood Pottery Decorated Vellum Vase - A Kataro Shirayamadani for Rookwood Pottery ceramic vase of ovoid form with a short, flared rim and a stepped pedestal base. The piece is finished in a matte, crackle-textured Vellum glaze featuring a graduated color palette transitioning from lavender at the rim to blue and pale greenish-yellow at the base. The exterior is decorated with a hand-painted floral motif of forsythia blossoms on slender brown stems. The underside bears the impressed Rookwood flame mark with Roman numerals XXXIV indicating the year of manufacture, 1934, alongside the shape number 6740.
