A Collection of 19th and Early 20th Century Photography and Ephemera - This collection consists of various 19th and early 20th-century photographic formats and paper ephemera. The group includes cased daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, and tintypes housed in embossed leather and thermoplastic Union cases. One thermoplastic case is marked for Littlefield, Parsons & Co. with patent dates of October 14, 1856, and April 21, 1857. The interiors of the cases feature embossed velvet liners in purple, red, and brown, accompanied by decorative brass mats. The photographic subjects primarily include individual and group portraits. Also present is an assortment of cabinet cards, carte-de-visites, and vintage photographs depicting residences and early automobiles. The ephemera component contains decorative holiday postcards, calling cards bearing names such as Wegley and Heeter, and handwritten correspondence with postmarks from Richmond, Indiana, and the Battle Creek Sanitarium in Michigan. Largest paper items approximately 9 inches by 12 inches; smallest cased images approximately 2 inches by 2.5 inches. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Friday, March 27 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
