An Assortment of Vintage Mother-of-Pearl and Abalone Shell Buttons - This collection features an assortment of vintage buttons crafted from mother-of-pearl and vivid abalone shell. The group includes various shapes and sizes, such as large circular buttons with natural growth lines, a fish-shaped button, and a square button with a central metal ornament. The shell materials display a range of iridescent colors including silvery-white, deep greens, purples, and blues. Several pieces feature specialized construction, including buttons with metal rims and one ornate oval button with a central floral motif and a filigreed gold and silver-tone border. Handwritten annotations on the display board identify specific features such as rimmed edges and a button set in a hallmarked silver back. The collection includes both two-hole and four-hole varieties, with some pieces showing carved and polished textures. Display board measures approximately 9.25 inches in height.
