A Collection of American Gilt Brass Golden Age Buttons - This collection of American-made gilt brass buttons originates from the Golden Age of production, dating prior to 1850. These items are buttons featuring various embossed and chased designs, including floral motifs, geometric patterns, and textured surfaces. The collection includes specimens from notable manufacturers such as Scovill's Waterbury, D. Evans and Company, Benedict and Burnham, and Robinson's. Many examples feature quality designations such as Extra Rich Quality and Standard Color. One button is prominently dated 1831. The items are mounted on a red display board with detailed handwritten identifications based on their respective backmarks. Board measures approximately 9 x 11 inches. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
