Antique Chalkware Figural Pipe Holder Wall Plaque with Eight Caricatured Heads - A wall-hanging composition plaque crafted from chalkware featuring several caricatured heads of Black individuals. The figures are mounted along a base designed to resemble the neck and headstock of a stringed instrument, such as a banjo or guitar. The base is finished in a reddish-orange pigment with black linear detailing representing frets and features an incised inscription that reads ALL COONS LOOK ALIKE TO ME. The heads are rendered with various facial expressions and open mouths; the central head features a circular aperture at the crown, identifying the piece as a pipe holder. The reverse of the plaque is flat and unfinished, equipped with two small metal loops for wall mounting. The construction consists of a molded plaster-like composition material with a painted surface. Overall length: approximately 18 inches.
