Austrian Cold-Painted Cast Metal Novelty Ashtray - An antique novelty ashtray featuring an integrated figurative element, manufactured in Austria. The item is made of cast metal, likely bronze or spelter, with a cold-painted finish. The figure depicts a boy with stereotypical features associated with late 19th and early 20th-century Black Americana, shown standing and smoking a large cigar. The figure is dressed in a wide-brimmed yellow hat, a red neckerchief, and green-toned overalls with red suspender straps. The underside of the base is embossed with the mark AUSTRIA and features a hammered texture.
