Vintage Dancin Minstrel Carved Wooden Jigging Toy - This vintage mechanical jigging toy features an articulated figure in the style of a minstrel performer. The figure is constructed of painted wood with a metal spring neck and is suspended by a twisted metal support wire. The mechanism operates by vibrating or tapping the flexible wooden paddle, causing the jointed limbs to move in a dancing motion while the head bobs on the spring. The top of the paddle displays a circular black and white graphic with an eight-pointed star and the text DANCIN MINSTREL. The paddle is secured to a larger wooden base with metal staples and fabric or tape hinges. Base measures approximately 14 inches in length. Pickup is Wednesday, April 22 from 10 am to 3 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
