J. & E. Stevens Co. Dinah Mechanical Bank - This is a cast iron mechanical bank titled Dinah, manufactured by the J. & E. Stevens Co. of Cromwell, Connecticut. The bank is designed as a polychrome-painted bust of a woman wearing a yellow dress, a molded beaded necklace, and hoop earrings. The mechanical action is triggered by a lever located on the figure's left shoulder. When depressed, the right arm raises a coin toward the mouth, while the mouth opens and the eyes roll upward. The reverse of the bust features the name DINAH in raised block letters. The perforated base plate is embossed with the manufacturer's mark: J.E.STEVENS 1890.PAT 103. The construction consists of multiple cast iron components joined by screws. Height: 6.5 inches.
