Two Starkie's Patent Jolly Aluminum Mechanical Banks - A pair of Starkie's Patent Jolly mechanical money banks distributed by T & G (Thomas & Gould) of London. These banks are constructed from cast aluminum with a painted finish. The design features a lever-action mechanism located on the rear of the figure; when depressed, the right arm raises toward the mouth as the mouth opens and the eyes roll. One figure is depicted hatless wearing a red shirt and white bowtie. The second figure wears a tan boater-style hat with a black band, a red jacket, and a blue bowtie. The hatted figure retains its original open-grid base plate with embossed markings including the circular T & G London logo, Starkie's Patent, Reg. No. 323287, and 844290. The hatless figure has a solid metal base plate. Height (hatless): 6.5 inches Height (with hat): 7 inches. Pickup is Wednesday, April 22 from 10 am to 3 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
