A Pair of Vintage Articulated Dancing Woodman Figures - A pair of vintage articulated dancing or limberjack style figures, attributed to the Dancing Woodman or Little Black Sambo tuxedo puppet patterns of the 1920s. These figures are constructed of painted wood with simple pin hinges at the shoulders, hips, and knees to facilitate rhythmic movement. The first figure is depicted in a black suit with a white shirt front, black bowtie, and a red boutonniere, wearing a flat-topped black hat with square-toed black feet. The second figure features a black suit with a white shirt front and a red bowtie, wearing a white top hat with oval-shaped white feet. This second figure is currently fitted with a long metal operating rod inserted into a hole in the back, designed to bounce the figure against a surface to simulate dancing. Height: 8.5 to 9 inches Rod Length: 15 inches. Pickup is Wednesday, April 22 from 10 am to 3 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
