A Collection of Six Vintage Black Americana Dolls - This collection features six vintage dolls representing various styles of Black Americana. The group includes four larger character dolls and two smaller souvenir-style dolls. The dolls are primarily constructed with composition heads and a mix of composition limbs and stuffed cloth bodies. Each doll features painted facial features and molded hair. Four of the dolls have applied black yarn pigtails secured with ribbons in white, pink, and blue. The clothing consists of vintage textile outfits, including a yellow checkered romper with blue knit booties, a red and white floral cotton dress, a blue floral print dress with lace trim, a multi-color plaid dress, a red and white polka-dot dress with a white apron, and a fringed tan fabric outfit with felt feet. One doll carries a small woven basket and wears a red silk ribbon printed with Souvenir of New Orleans. Another doll is accompanied by a handwritten tag identifying it as an 8 inch Painted Bisque Indian. No incised manufacturer marks are visible on the heads or bodies. Heights range from approximately 8 inches to 12 inches. Pickup is Wednesday, April 22 from 10 am to 3 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
