A Collection of Five Vintage and Contemporary Black Americana Dolls - This collection consists of five dolls representing various styles of Black Americana folk art and character doll design. The group includes a large primitive all-cloth rag doll featuring a black fabric body, black yarn pom-pom hair, and painted orange dot eyes, dressed in a blue patterned dress with a cream shawl and apron. Also included is a pair of contemporary cloth dolls in the Raggedy Ann and Andy style with black yarn hair, embroidered features, and red and white striped legs; they wear matching checked shirts with denim overalls and a white pinafore respectively. A mid-century style doll features a molded composition head and hands on a cloth body, wearing a red and white polka dot dress, gold-tone hoop earrings, and a red floral headpiece. The final item is a double-ended topsy-turvy doll with a molded and painted head and a long cream skirt decorated with a red heart and grid pattern.
