A Pair of McCoy Black Americana Mammy Cookie Jars - This lot consists of a pair of figural ceramic cookie jars manufactured by McCoy Pottery. These items are identified as the Mammy pattern, a common theme in mid-20th-century American kitchenware. Each jar is constructed of glazed earthenware and features a two-piece design where the lid forms the upper torso and head of the figure. The figures are depicted with hands clasped, wearing a full, pleated skirt and a collared blouse. The word Cookies is embossed in relief near the base of each skirt. The jars feature a primary cream-colored glaze with cold-painted over-glaze details in red, green, black, and white. The base of each jar bears an incised McCoy factory mark. Height: 10.5 inches. Pickup is Wednesday, April 22 from 10 am to 3 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
