A Collection of Seven Vintage Black Americana Ceramic and Composition Figurines - This collection of Black Americana collectibles includes a variety of household and novelty items. The largest piece is a glazed ceramic string holder depicting a female figure in a red dress with a white apron and a red polka dot headscarf, featuring a circular opening in the back and a hole in the base for string dispersal. A pair of coin banks includes a chef in a white uniform and a man in a red jacket and yellow trousers; both are constructed of painted composition material and bear red Made in China stamps on their bases with black rubber stoppers intact. A small glazed ceramic salt or pepper shaker depicts a seated female figure with a red headscarf and contains a cork stopper. The collection also includes three miniature porcelain novelty ashtrays, each featuring a small figure seated on a white basin. One basin is inscribed with the text For Old Butts AND ASHES. Markings on the ashtray bases include a green Occupied Japan stamp and a black Japan stamp, while one remains unmarked. String holder: 8 inches. Banks: 5.5 to 6 inches. Shaker: 4 inches.
