A Trio of Vintage American Advertising Containers Including Gold Dust and Blackola - This lot features three vintage American product containers representing early-to-mid 20th-century household advertising. The first item is a Gold Dust Scouring Cleanser cylindrical can produced by the Lever Brothers Company of Cambridge, Massachusetts. The lithographed metal container features the brand's mascot characters and is labeled with a net weight of 14 ounces. The reverse side includes usage instructions for the ”sudsy” cleanser, and the metal top is embossed with the brand name and ”OPEN HOLES” indicators. The second item is a wooden shipping or display crate for Blackola shoe polish, manufactured by The World Polish Mfg. Co. of York, Pennsylvania. The crate features nailed wood construction and a partial paper label on the front identifying the product as ”The Modern Shoe Polish.” The third item is a Fairbank's Gold Dust Washing Powder cardboard box from the Lever Brothers Company of New York, New York. This 5-ounce container features bilingual English and Spanish text, including the ”Let the Twins Do Your Work” slogan and detailed usage instructions on the reverse.
