Evans, Lancelot, et al. The Negro Heritage Library. M. W. Lads, 1964-1966. First Editions. - A collection of hardcover volumes from The Negro Heritage Library series, published by M. W. Lads and Educational Heritage Incorporated of New York and Philadelphia. The group includes Emerging African Nations and Their Leaders (Volumes I and II) edited by Lancelot Evans, Negro Heritage Reader for Young People edited by Cain, and two copies of A Martin Luther King Treasury. The volumes are bound in publisher's tan-orange textured cloth boards with gilt and black stamping, featuring a large interlocking NHL monogram on the front covers. The interior pages are profusely illustrated with black and white photographs, maps, and portraits of heads of state, with maps and portraits credited to Horace Varela. These are ex-library copies from St. Angela Merici Hall in Toledo, Ohio, and contain associated markings including ink stamps, internal card pockets, and date due slips. Height: 11 inches.
