A Pair of Antique Cast Iron Black Americana Figural Andirons - A pair of cast iron andirons featuring decorative front plates in the form of standing male figures. These figures are rendered in a caricatured style characteristic of late 19th and early 20th-century Black Americana. Each figure is depicted with hands on hips and legs spread wide, wearing a collared shirt and trousers. The items are constructed in two parts, with a horizontal billet or log bar that fits into a rectangular socket on the reverse of the figural plate. No foundry marks, maker's marks, or model numbers are present on any of the components. Log bars: 15 inches in length. Pickup is Wednesday, April 22 from 10 am to 3 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
