Mid-20th Century Painted Chalkware Seated Caricature Figurine - This is a folk-style caricature figurine of a seated figure, categorized as Black Americana. The piece is constructed from molded chalkware and finished with polychrome paint. The figure is depicted with black skin, exaggerated white eyes, and red lips. It wears a red and blue costume consisting of a red shirt with blue straps and blue trousers, topped with a red cap. A small, cylindrical wooden object, likely representing a pipe or musical instrument, is inserted into the mouth. The base is flat with a large, irregular indentation from the molding process.
