McCrary & Branson, A Pair of Silver Gelatin Prints, Last One In's a N*****, 1898 - A pair of sepia-toned silver gelatin prints on paper by the McCrary & Branson studio of Knoxville, Tennessee, dated 1898. The photographs depict a group of approximately twenty Black children climbing over a wooden railing toward a body of water. Both prints feature a printed title in the lower center margin reading Last One In's a N***** and a copyright credit in the lower right reading Copyright 1898. McCrary & Branson. The larger print is mounted on tan cardstock and housed in a black-painted wood frame with a cardboard backing. The smaller print is mounted on tan cardstock and housed in a dark wood frame with a wire hanger. Larger frame: approximately 23 inches wide Smaller frame: approximately 19.5 inches wide. Pickup is Wednesday, April 22 from 10 am to 3 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
