Antique American Needlework Sampler - This antique needlework sampler is executed in cross-stitch on a natural-toned, coarse-weave linen ground. The textile features multiple rows of uppercase alphabets in varying styles, followed by numerals 1 through 9. Decorative motifs include stylized hearts and scrollwork. The stitching is rendered in muted shades of green, brown, blue, and tan. The piece contains several stitched inscriptions, including the initials E.R appearing twice and a partial name or location reading F.R. BORI. HA. The sampler is housed in a wide, dark-stained oak frame under glass with a cream-colored mat.
