A Collection of Primitive Style Kitchenwares and American Folk Art - A collection of primitive-style kitchenwares and American folk art. The group features a hand-painted wooden barn-shaped box, signed and dated on the underside of the lid by Nancy S. Bassford, 1982. Included is a circular wooden calendar device with a metal pointer and radiating incised lines, accompanied by a handwritten provenance note attributing the object to the mid-18th century from Stockport, Ohio. The lot also contains several hand-carved wooden bowls of various sizes and finishes, a blue-painted wooden cutlery tray with multiple forks featuring dark-stained handles, and an assortment of wooden kitchen tools such as a large ladle, pestles, and animal-themed stamps. Additional items include decorative gourds, egg-shaped objects, a small salt-glazed stoneware crock with a cobalt blue heart motif, and a metal grater. Pickup is Thursday, March 19, from from Noon to 3 pm at the home in Athens, OH or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
