Art Deco Double-Handled Art Pottery Vase in the Monticello Pattern - This American art pottery vessel is attributed to Roseville Pottery of Zanesville, Ohio, in the Monticello pattern, which was introduced in 1931. The earthenware vase features a squat, bulbous form with a wide flared neck and two opposing loop handles. The piece is finished in a matte to semi-gloss mottled drip glaze in a palette of mint green and cream, accented by vertical Art Deco stylized drips in dark indigo and russet brown. The base reveals a light-colored buff clay body and is unmarked by the manufacturer, bearing the handwritten pattern number 553 in red grease pencil, which corresponds to the Roseville catalog for this specific 4-inch shape.
