A Pair of Weller Pottery Woodcraft Pattern Wall Pockets - A pair of American art pottery wall pockets in the Woodcraft pattern, attributed to Weller Pottery, produced circa 1920s. These earthenware pieces feature naturalistic, high-relief molded designs with hand-applied polychrome glazes. The first wall pocket is designed as a tapered tree trunk, decorated with a figural squirrel perched on a branch surrounded by oak leaves and acorns in earthy brown, green, and orange tones. The second wall pocket is molded in the form of a flowering branch, featuring pink apple or cherry blossoms and green foliage against a gnarled wood-textured ground. Both items feature flat backs with pre-drilled hanging holes; one includes a gold-tone hanging cord. These pieces are characteristic of the rustic Woodcraft line which emphasized forest and woodland motifs. Unmarked. Dimensions: Squirrel pocket 9.5 inches in length, Blossom pocket 9 inches in length. Burns in-house shipping is available.
