Thompson/Center Arms Cherokee Percussion Rifle .32 Caliber with 25 Inch Barrel - The Thompson/Center Arms Cherokee is a muzzleloading percussion rifle chambered in .32 caliber, specifically designed as a lightweight sporting arm for small game hunting. This example features a 25-inch octagonal barrel fitted with a fixed blade front sight and an adjustable rear notch sight. The metal surfaces, including the barrel and the lock plate, show a significant dark patina with widespread surface oxidation. Verbatim markings on the top of the barrel include THOMPSON / CENTER ARMS ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE and .32 CAL. The left side of the barrel is marked CHEROKEE along with the serial number K2384. Additionally, the name E HUNTER is stamped into the upper left flat of the barrel. The rifle is stocked in a figured hardwood with a brass crescent buttplate, a brass forend cap, and a brass trigger guard containing double set triggers. A wooden ramrod with brass tips is held by two metal ferrules under the barrel. This item is either black powder or manufactured in or before 1898 (and does not take readily available ammunition), and thus does not require an FFL or background check.
