A Pair of 1923 Ohio Passenger Vehicle License Plates - This lot features a matched pair of embossed metal license plates issued by the State of Ohio for the 1923 registration year. The plates are constructed from heavy-gauge metal and feature a cream-colored background with embossed numerals and lettering finished in red. The primary identification number 646.409 is centered on each plate, with the text OHIO-1923 located directly below. Each plate is designed with a group of circular mounting holes at the corners and two horizontal mounting slots along the top edge. The two plates are currently joined together by wire through the mounting holes. The reverse side displays the mirrored, debossed characters corresponding to the front stamping; no maker's marks or manufacturer stamps are present on the reverse. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Thursday, May 28 from 11 am to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
