Each plate in this collection bears the identical registration alphanumeric 1. Y. The lot includes 1939 plates with white characters on a white background, showing signs of an older repaint. There is a matched pair of 1942 plates with dark green characters on a white background, joined together by wire. A single 1945 plate features dark characters on a yellow background. A 1946 plate features red characters on an orange background. Two 1947 plates feature dark green paint over the embossed characters and background. Each plate displays the registration code 1. Y centered above the state and year. Transcribed marks on the lower portion of the plates include OHIO - 1939, OHIO - 1942, OHIO - 1945, OHIO - 1946, and 1947 - OHIO.
