A collection of Vintage Petroliana Road Maps and Wire Display Rack - A collection of vintage folding paper road maps from various major oil companies and state departments, dating from the late 1940s to the early 1950s, accompanied by a matching gauge-wire metal display rack. Brands represented include Humble (Southeast United States Interstate Map), Gulf (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia Tourgide Map and a Have a Good Time promotional booklet), Standard Oil Company (Colorado Highway Map featuring a service station attendant illustration), Mobilgas Socony-Vacuum Oil Company (Ohio and Adjoining States featuring the Pegasus logo), Esso Standard Oil Company (Washington, D.C. And Vicinity Road Map and Visitor Guide), and Phillips a group of Phillips Petroleum Company (Delaware-Maryland, Virginia-W. Virginia Highway Map). Also included are official State of Ohio Department of Highways maps from 1948 and 1951. The maps feature period-correct graphic design, typography, and corporate logos. The wire display rack is constructed from metal and features a two-column design sized to accommodate standard folded road maps. Standard folded maps: 4 x 9 inches Wire rack: sized to accommodate maps in two columns. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Thursday, May 28 from 11 am to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
