A Collection of Vintage Mid-Century Food Advertising and Product Packaging - A collection of vintage American food packaging and advertising ephemera dating approximately from the 1930s through the 1960s. The lot includes a framed color magazine advertisement for Jif Peanut Spread, marked The Procter and Gamble Co. 1960, featuring the slogan It is diff... It is ter-r-rif!. The collection also contains vintage glass jars: one Jif Creamy-Smooth Peanut Spread jar with a yellow metal lid and two Skippy Creamy Peanut Butter jars, one with a white and blue lid and the other with a red and blue label and white lid. Snack packaging consists of a Sunny Side Potato Chips cellophane bag from Sunnyvale, California; a Ballreichs Marcelled Potato Chips Barb-B-Q flavor bag from Tiffin, Ohio; and a Kuehmanns Potato Chips paper bag from Toledo, Ohio, which commemorates a group of years of production, dating it to circa 1948. Additional items include a Planters Salted in Shell Roasted Peanuts burlap sack featuring the Mr. Peanut mascot, a Borden Vitamin D Milk label with Elsie the Cow, a Little Debbie Snak Cakes vinyl promotional wallet insert, and a Westinghouse owner guide for model TMR8040.
