1947 Mercer County Fairgrounds Speedway Auto Races Grand Opening Program - An official 1947 Speedway Auto Races program for the June 22nd grand opening at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Celina, Ohio. Presented by Valli Enterprises, Inc., the event was sanctioned by the Contest Board of the Central States Racing Association (CSRA), Sanction No. 47231. The program features an orange paper cover with purple and orange graphics of a midget-style racing car. The interior includes a list of racing officials, flag signals, and schedules for events, including time trials, elimination races, a consolation race, and a 20-lap feature race. The program contains numerous period advertisements for businesses in Celina and St. Marys, Ohio, such as Celina Auto Co., Montgomery Ward, Lakeside Garage, and Borden's Ice Cream. Extensive contemporaneous handwritten ink notations throughout the interior record driver names, car numbers, qualifying times, and race results. Notable drivers listed include Jimmy Wilburn, Chuck Frame, and Bill Spinks.
