A Group of Heidelberg Raceway Midget Auto Race Official Programs - A group of vintage paper ephemera booklets for the 1948 Midget Auto Races held at the Heidelberg Raceway and Sports Arena in Heidelberg, Pennsylvania. Each program features a two-tone orange and white graphic cover depicting a checkered flag and a racing car, commemorating the 100 Lap Mid-Summer Classic. The interior pages provide comprehensive racing data from the period, including lists of racing officials, driver entry charts, and race course flag signals. The booklets contain numerous black-and-white action photographs and portraits of prominent drivers such as Wally Stokes, Jimmie Florian, Merle Matthews, George Binnie, Herb Swan, and Al Shaffer. An aerial view of the raceway on Opening Day, 1948, is also included. The programs feature various handwritten notations, scores, and names in pencil and ink, consistent with trackside use.
