Vintage 1958-1959 All-American Racing Club Muncie Indiana Promotional Wall Calendar - This vintage promotional wall calendar, dated for 1958-1959, was produced for the All-American Racing Club (AARC) of Muncie, Indiana. The paper ephemera features black and white photographs of Big Car sprint and championship racing, including a start at the Detroit 100 on June 8, 1958. The layout includes portraits of AARC champions from 1955 through 1958: Tom Cherry, Red Amick, John White, and Wayne Alspaugh. Advertisements for Tom Cherry’s exhaust and racing supply business are featured, listing wholesale and retail services for custom power racing parts and supplies. The calendar was manufactured by the Gerlach-Barklow Co. of Joliet, Illinois, as indicated by the printed mark on the interior. The item is bound at the top with a black metal strip featuring an integrated brass-toned hanging loop. The calendar includes a Notemaster calendar planning pad section. Handwritten inscriptions are present on pages, including personal notes regarding gardening and local events dated 1957 and 1958. Width: 16 inches Height (top panel): 10 inches.
