Mid-1950s Funk's Speedway Bob Sweikert Day Race Program and Advertising Insert - This vintage auto racing Lucky Number Program was issued by Funk's Speedway in Winchester, Indiana, circa 1955–1956. The publication commemorates Bob Sweikert Day, celebrating the career of the 1955 Indianapolis 500 winner. The front cover displays a halftone portrait of Sweikert in racing gear alongside a prominent vertical Coca-Cola advertisement, while the back cover features a full-page monochrome advertisement for 7up. The interior contains unrecorded scoring pages for separate races, blank entry lists, and an illustrated guide to Starter’s Flag Signals. A significant portion of the program is dedicated to local advertisements from Winchester, Lynn, Richmond, and Wabash, Indiana, including a feature for a 500 white poplin jacket sold by Dick’s Men’s Wear and endorsed by 500 driver Jimmy Daywalt. This lot includes the original yellow-paper promotional advertising flyer for the jacket as a separate insert. This item serves as a significant piece of mid-century Indiana motorsports history, particularly given Sweikert's Hall of Fame status and his untimely passing in June 1956. Dimensions: 9 x 6 inches.
