Bidspirit auction | Jones Speedways Official Racing Program,
Jones Speedways Official Racing Program, Ohio Speedway Association and NASCAR, circa 1949 - This is an original, unused official racing program for Jones Speedways, documenting events across Ohio venues including Newark, Logan (Hocking County Fair Grounds), London, and Marysville. Produced circa 1948–1950, the program highlights the early affiliation between the Ohio Speedway Association (O.S.A.) and the then-newly formed National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). The text identifies legendary driver Bob Flock as a 30-year-old Atlanta speed demon and mentions veteran driver Jim Rathman. The content features heat and feature race schedules, a directory of race and track officials, and numerous local advertisements for businesses in the Newark and Columbus, Ohio areas. The program was published by Dale J. Leonard for Illustrated Speedway News of Columbus, Ohio. It remains in an as-issued state with the Lucky Number deposit stubs on the back cover still intact and the race result sheets left blank. Dimensions: 5.75 x 8.75 inches.
