A Collection of 19th and Early 20th Century Historical Ephemera, Framed Prints, and a Singer Model 20 Toy Sewing Machine - This lot comprises an assortment of 19th and early 20th-century historical documents, artwork, and a vintage collectible. The collection features a Singer Model 20 hand-crank toy sewing machine constructed of cast iron with a black finish. The body displays the Singer name in gold-tone lettering and a brass-colored trade mark medallion from The Singer Mfg. Co. on the arm. The machine includes a hand crank with a wooden knob, a table clamp, and a green felt base. Framed artwork includes a hand-colored engraving of The Black Tern and The Lesser Tern, marked as Plate 27, with a reverse label dating the print to 1843. A small framed woodcut print is titled Execution of the Six Desperadoes, illustrating the hanging of the Andersonville Raiders. A third framed print is an Edwardian-era profile portrait of a woman signed H. Tomidu. The historical ephemera includes handwritten letters from Charleston, Virginia, dated February 27, 1863, written by Acting Assistant Surgeon M. McEwen to Surgeon General W.A. Hammond regarding medical service accounts. Also included is a four-page handwritten poem on lined paper titled Fought with Grant and Lee, annotated as being written in 1885.
