An Assortment of Advertising, Commemorative, and Flow Blue Ceramic Plates - This lot features an assortment of antique and vintage ceramic plates featuring a variety of advertising, commemorative, and decorative motifs. Included is a 1908 calendar advertising plate distributed by the Hisylvania Store of Trimble, Ohio, which is characterized by a shaded green rim and a central rose transfer surrounded by a full calendar for the year. A second advertising piece is a scalloped-edge earthenware plate for the Round Oak Stove Works, depicting the Doe-Wah-Jack Native American mascot. The reverse of this plate bears a circular black backstamp for the Estate of P. D. Beckwith, Dowagiac, Michigan, and identifies Fred. E. Lee as the manager. The collection also includes earthenware plates by William Adams and Co. of Tunstall, England. These plates feature flow blue patterns with hand-colored red and green highlights; a displays a foliage and berry border, while the other features elaborate floral motifs. An unmarked octagonal plate is decorated with blue grape clusters and autumn-colored leaves with flow blue style accents along the border. A sixth plate features a stenciled cobalt blue geometric border and is marked on the reverse with a royal coat of arms and the initials W.M.
