Large-Format Panoramic Photographs of United Mine Workers of America Constitutional Conventions, 1946 and 1968 - This lot consists of vintage, large-format panoramic gelatin silver prints documenting national conventions for the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA). These photographs capture significant historical gatherings of union leadership and delegates during the mid-20th century. The first photograph documents the Thirty-Ninth Constitutional Convention held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, from October 1st to 5th, 1946. The image depicts a vast assembly of delegates in a large auditorium, with officials seated on a stage decorated with a massive 48-star American flag.
