A Large Collection of Early to Mid-20th-Century Southeastern Ohio Ephemera and Photography - This extensive archive of regional paper ephemera primarily focuses on Athens, Hocking, and Franklin counties in Ohio, dating from approximately 1900 to 1945. A significant portion of the collection pertains to the Overland Transportation Company, featuring multiple handwritten and typed excursion schedules and circulars on blue and white paper dated between 1938 and 1940. These documents outline travel routes between Nelsonville, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Girardeau, Missouri. Fraternal organization materials are heavily represented, including correspondence and envelopes from the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) and the Rebekah Lodge, specifically citing Magic City Lodge 797 in Glouster, Stockport Lodge 439, and Syracuse Lodge 483. An envelope from the C. E. Ward Co. of New London, Ohio, a known regalia manufacturer, is also present. The photography component includes a large silver gelatin group portrait of men standing on a city street with mid-century vehicles in the background, a real photo postcard depicting the Nelsonville Covered Bridge, a cabinet card portrait of an infant by McDowell of Nelsonville, and various smaller snapshots. Cooper (circa 1929-1931), and a flyer for Grand Opera performances of Wagner's works at Music Hall. Commercial ephemera includes a blue promotional brochure for The Citizens Supply Wholesale Company titled The Home of the Golden Rule, accounting receipts from The Muskingum Valley Grocery Co. in McConnellsville, a Railroad Mens Time Book, and several syndicated comic clippings including work by Sidney Hoff.
