Norman Rockwell Items Including a Hobo Figurine and The Faith of America Book - This lot comprises a hand-painted composite figurine of a seated hobo and a hardcover book. The figurine is modeled after Norman Rockwell's cover art for the October 18, 1924, issue of The Saturday Evening Post. It depicts a figure in distressed blue clothing with a pipe, seated on a wooden block alongside a scruffy dog, a polka-dot bundle, and a tin can. The figurine is mounted on a finished oval wooden base with an inset brass-tone plaque inscribed with the subject title, artist, and original publication date. The accompanying book, titled The Faith of America, features illustrations by Norman Rockwell and text by Fred Bauer. This edition was published by Guideposts in arrangement with Artabras, Inc. and Word Books, with a copyright date of 1980. The book includes a dust jacket featuring the artwork Freedom of Worship.
