A Large Industrial Painted Steel Storage Rack with a Collection of United Steel and Wire Co. Lyon Wire Baskets - This vintage industrial storage unit consists of an open-frame steel structure finished in green paint. The rack houses a collection of slide-out wire mesh baskets manufactured by United Steel and Wire Co., a division of Roblin Ind., based in Battle Creek, Michigan. Each basket is constructed with a perforated metal front plate bearing a Lyon-branded metal identification tag referencing offices in Los Angeles, York, Pennsylvania, and Aurora, Illinois. The baskets are equipped with individual numbered metal tags and a central loop designed for padlock security. These units were historically utilized for storage in school gymnasiums, locker rooms, or public swimming pools. Height: 78 inches Width: 50 inches Depth: 13 inches.
