A Pair of Vintage Ceramic Child Figural Bookends with Mottled Honey-Brown Glaze - This is a pair of vintage ceramic bookends in the style of designs produced by Kathodian Bronze Works (KBW). Each piece features a seated, nude child or cherub figure intently reading a small open book held in both hands. The figures are positioned atop a stack of two large books. The items are constructed from cream-colored earthenware ceramic and finished in a high-gloss, mottled honey-brown glaze. This glaze style, reminiscent of Rockingham or Bennington pottery, pools in the recessed areas of the sculpture to provide depth and highlight details. The bases are hollow-cast with unglazed bottom edges. A handwritten mark in black ink is present inside one of the bases but is not clearly legible. No other maker's marks, stamps, or model numbers are visible. Height: 7.75 inches. Burns in-house shipping is available.
